All graduates of the NCGIA training who obtain their CFMG™ certification will be able to participate in our “Dirty Hair Project” which pays $113 per pound of dirty cat hair.
Dander is expressed from the unbathed cat hair and used for making allergy shots for humans. The lab that makes the allergy shots is in need of tremendous amounts of dirty cat hair just to keep up with demand.
The FDA requires a signed health certificate with each batch of cat hair sold to the lab. Until recently, the health certificate required a signature by a licensed veterinarian stating that all cats contributing hair were healthy. Now, however, all who receive NCGIA training and certification qualify to sign their own health certificate and sell their dirty cat hair for $113 per pound!
