A total of nine (9) exams with a passing grade and proof of certification
for animal CPR specific to felines are required to obtain the title of
Certified Feline Master Groomer™ (CFMG™).
A title of CFMG™ and passing of the Creative Grooming Practical Exam
are required to obtain the title of Certified Feline Creative Groomer™
(CFCG™).
Four (4) Written Exams:
- Anatomy/Health
- Breeds/Colors/Genetics
- Temperaments/Handling Skills
- Business Management
Five (5) Practical Exams:
- LH Full Coat Groom with follow-ups:
sanitary clip, half belly shave, and full belly shave
- SH Full Coat Groom with follow-ups:
deshed (or degrease),nail caps
- LH Comb Cut with follow-ups: face trim, toe tuft trim
- Lion Cut Standard with no follow-ups
- Lion Cut Variation with no follow-ups
Optional Practical Exam for CFCG™ Certification:
- Creative Groom with no follow ups
(must be CFMG™ Certified to qualify)
Annual membership in the NCGIA is required before any testing can take
place.
A passing grade is a score of 85% or higher for all exams, written and
practical.
Study Packets are available for all written exams. Proof of purchase of
Study Packets is required for exam registration. No exceptions.
Instructional videos are available for each of the practical exams but are
not necessary to meet registration requirements.
Seminars, Workshops, and Personalized Private Instruction are also
available.
Proof of completion and/or certification of an animal CPR course can be
done at any time during the certification process.
All exam registration fees are non-refundable.
Exams can be administered privately at the NCGIA headquarters or at
any designated testing site set up by the NCGIA.
The cost of each exam is $65.00
Annual renewal fee for both the CFMG™ and CFCG™ title/certificate is
$20.00 each.
