Exciting Update for CFMG Students!

The National Cat Groomers Institute is adding a new online exam portal through Exam.net for the Certified Feline Master Groomer written exams. 🎉

This upgrade means greater flexibility and accessibility for our students all around the globe. Whether you’re preparing from your salon, cattery, or cozy study nook, you’ll now have more options to take your written exams securely and conveniently online.

📚 About the Online Exam Format

NCGI written exams are administered through Exam.net, a secure, proctored online testing platform. You’ll take the exam from your own device using the free Exam.net app.

Before registering, please be aware:

  • You’ll need to install the Exam.net app on your device (Windows, Mac, or iPad) before your exam day.
  • Once the exam starts, your screen will be locked in full-screen mode until you submit your answers.
  • You will not be able to pause, exit, or revisit the exam after submission.
  • An online proctor will monitor your entire session.
  • Use of notes, study materials, other people, or any unauthorized resources is strictly prohibited and will result in an automatic fail.
  • A passing score is 85% or higher. Exam results will be emailed to you within 5–7 business days.

✅ Taking a NCGI Written Exam with Exam.net

📲 Step 1: Install the Exam.net App

You must install the Exam.net app before your test. Choose the correct link for your device:

Once installed, simply click your exam link when you are ready to test—the app will open automatically. If the above links aren’t working for you, click here for more information on installing the app and troubleshooting. 

The app also includes a built-in practice mode where you can test the exam environment without needing an exam key. If your app isn’t working, you can also use the Chrome browser to access your test.

 

📝 Step 2: Exam Guidelines

  • You will have 1 hour to complete your exam.
  • A passing score is 85% or higher.
  • You cannot exit, pause, or reopen the exam once started.
  • The app will lock your screen in full-screen mode until you submit your answers.
  • A proctor will monitor your entire session.
  • Use of notes, study materials, outside assistance, or any unauthorized resources is strictly prohibited and will result in an automatic fail.
  • Close all other browser windows or apps before you begin.

Your exam will be graded manually. Results will be emailed within 5–7 business days.


⚠️ Having Technical Trouble?

If you're unable to launch the exam using the app, a Chrome browser-based version is available as a backup. You’ll still be proctored, and all exam rules still apply.
